Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Fêted collects, how we use it and who we share it with. It applies to the Fêted website and application (the "Service").

Account information: name, email address and password (encrypted) for couples, venue owners and admins.

Couple profile information (optional, where provided): partner names, approximate wedding date, guest count and budget range, used to personalize your experience and included in inquiries you choose to send.

Venue owner information: business name, contact email, address, photos, pricing, capacity and other listing details you submit; this information is displayed publicly as part of your listing.

Usage information: venues you view, save or skip; inquiries you send; pages you visit; and similar interactions with the Service, used to operate features like your shortlist and to understand how the Service is used. If you choose Accept on our privacy banner, we also collect analytics and session recordings as described in Section 6.

Device and log information: IP address, browser type and similar technical data collected automatically, primarily for security and troubleshooting.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. See Section 10.

We use the information above to:

• Operate the Service, including the swipe deck, shortlist, search and inquiry features.
• Deliver your availability inquiries to the relevant venue and deliver venues' replies and confirmations back to you.
• Verify venue listings as described in our Terms of Service.
• Send transactional emails related to your activity, such as inquiry confirmations, venue notifications and account-related messages.
• With your separate consent or opt-in, send occasional emails about new venues joining Fêted.
• Maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
• Improve Fêted based on aggregated usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

With venues you contact: when you submit an availability inquiry, we share the information in that inquiry, your name, email and the details you provide, with the specific venue you contacted. That venue may reply directly to your email. This is the core function of the Service and the only case where your personal information is shared with another user by default.

With service providers: we use Lovable to host the website, Supabase for our database and accounts, Resend to deliver email and, only if you choose Accept, PostHog for product analytics and session recordings. These providers process data to run their services for us. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.

For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena or legal process or to protect the rights, safety or property of Fêted, our users or the public.

In a business transfer: if Fêted is acquired, merges or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy you're notified of.

We send two kinds of email.

Transactional email: inquiry notifications to venues, confirmations to couples, account-related messages. These are necessary to the Service and are not subject to a separate opt-out, though you can stop receiving them by not submitting inquiries or by closing your account.

Marketing email: such as our "new venues just joined" digest. These include an unsubscribe link in every message, honored within 10 business days and our physical mailing address as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any marketing email.

We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and remember things like your saved venues and your privacy choice.

With your permission, we use PostHog to learn how people use Fêted. If you choose Accept on the privacy banner, PostHog records page views, taps and session recordings of how you move through the site. Anything you type into a form is hidden from recordings. We never record venue owner or admin screens.

If you choose Reject or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, PostHog never loads and nothing is recorded.

You can change your choice at any time from Privacy choices on the Account screen or the button below.

We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell data collected through cookies or analytics.

Privacy choices

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal, security or accounting purposes, for example tax and accounting records.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information or to opt out of certain uses of it. As of 2026, roughly twenty US states have comprehensive privacy laws, nearly all with thresholds based on revenue or the number of consumers' data processed. Fêted's current size is below the thresholds that trigger most of these laws' formal requirements, but we honor reasonable access, correction and deletion requests from any user regardless of where you live. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted passwords and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Fêted is not directed to and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at the address in Section 13.

Our providers may store and process data in the United States. We do not currently operate outside the United States.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as an in-app notice or updating the "Last updated" date above.
